We put the merchant first and look at the business of receiving payments through their eyes. Merchants want a clear explanation of how their fees are structured, and they deserve a fair price. We give our clients as many payment options as possible. We offer efficient, flexible and cost effective processing solutions for the established merchant who is in this for the long haul. Understanding the Interchange is essential to getting the very best rates. We educate our merchants so that they understand the interchange and how it works. We also show merchants how to process efficiently to avoid downgraded transactions.

Our Story

Larry Clark has been a business professional for over 35 years. He formed a B2B headwear mfg company in 1989 and took it from a start-up, to one of the largest wholesale suppliers in the U.S. In 2004, before he sold his stake in Career Cap Corporation, he was approached and 'sold' a credit card processing account. This allowed his customers to pay for their orders with their business credit cards. The 1.49% up-front discount rate he signed up for, failed to disclose, that every time a business card was used for a transaction, that rate would be charged at 5.49%!!

A year or so later, his cousin called and told him he was in the credit card processing industry, and that he should come check it out. So, wanting to finally understand how this whole industry worked, he went to see what he could decipher. What he found out is that most banks/processors did NOT want to disclose or educate the merchants. Instead the banks/providers would leave the merchants in the dark, so that they could keep more profit for themselves.

It took him over 2 years to fully understand the fees and rates, but once he did, he decided to start a company that would offer merchants 'true cost'... ALL MERCHANTS!! No matter their sales $ volume, # of transactions, or average ticket size.

CoCard/OC was established in 2010 in Southern California. Our office is located in the Orange County city of Placentia just 1 hour south of Los Angeles. The Senior Executive agent in our office is Larry Clark. He has over 14 years of experience in the industry and has educated more than 5,000 merchants. His principles revolve around true cost and full disclosure of all rates/fees related to the credit card industry.
